Nominee's Bio: Osbrain Cares Foundation: Empowering Futures in Ghana Osbrain Cares Foundation is a Ghanaian non-profit organization dedicated to breaking the cycle of poverty and creating brighter futures for teenage mothers, adolescent girls, and marginalized communities. We achieve this through a collaborative and empowering approach, working hand-in-hand with those we serve. Our Vision: We envision communities where young mothers and their children thrive, leading vibrant and fulfilling lives. Our Mission: We empower teenage mothers, adolescent girls, and marginalized communities through education, mentorship, advocacy, and skills training, including: Formal Education Support: We provide financial assistance and wraparound support to young mothers so they can continue their education under the Ghana Education Service Pregnancy Prevention and Reentry Policy. Entrepreneurship and Micro-business Support: We equip young women with the skills and resources needed to launch and manage their own businesses, promoting economic independence. Menstrual Hygiene Management: We address the critical issue of period poverty by providing menstrual hygiene supplies and education, promoting health and school attendance. After-School Fashion Design and Technology Program: This innovative program fosters creativity and technical skills in children, empowering them to explore potential career paths and build self-confidence. Our Core Approach: Collaboration and Co-Creation Central to our work is the Community Engagement Series (CES). Through the CES program, we actively listen to the stories and needs of girls identified under the Ghana Education Service Pregnancy Prevention and Reentry Policy. We believe their voices matter, and we use this dialogue to co-design programs that are most effective and address their specific challenges. This collaborative approach fosters ownership and ensures the programs are culturally relevant and sustainable. Why We Are Deserving of the SDG 4 Award: Osbrain Cares Foundation directly addresses Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education. By providing educational opportunities, fostering skills development for teenage mothers and adolescent girls, and supporting their re-entry under the Ghana Education Service Policy, we empower them to reach their full potential and contribute meaningfully to society. Our After-school Fashion Design and Technology program further expands access to quality education by offering innovative learning experiences for children within the community. Together, we are creating a ripple effect of positive change in Ghana.
