Nominee's Bio: The nominee is a Senior Social Development Officer with the Department of Social Welfare and community development at the Chereponi District Assembly of the North East Region of Ghana. He has over 11 years of experience in community development practice. His professional area of focus is social impact, inclusion, livelihoods, child protection, village savings and loans association. He facilitated the formation of over 400 women groups in the Chereponi District who engage in weekly savings out of which members borrow to start small businesses. They groups also have social funds for solidarity support to its members in emergency situations. Prior to this intervention women in the Chereponi District barely had access to income for farming but the narrative is different today as women can now acquire services from tractor operators, buy improve seeds and other inputs for their small scale farming. The Nominee has leverage on the existence of these women groups to provide financial literacy training, sexual and gender based violence, personal development and basic business skills training to women in the district. His contributions to the development of the District is unprecedented and that has won him good accolade in the district. He is currently serving as the Head of department for the social welfare and community development. He is also Chairman of the civil and local government staff association of Ghana at the Chereponi branch. He holds master in development Management and certificates in public management, advocacy, financial literacy, monitoring and evaluation. He is currently a PhD candidate in Innovation with the University for Development Studies, Tamale.
