Nominee's Bio: Dr Matsetse Mpete is a global Award winning Humanitarian, Author and Entrepreneur. She is a Remarkable Woman who has fully immersed herself in the development of the society in Botswana and Africa at large. Dr Matsetse-Mpete has pioneered programs that contribute to the advancement of her native country and the whole of Africa. She is the founder of Women Achievers Awards, A platform that identifies, recognizes and honours Women and girls excelling in their respective fields across Africa, The WAA program encompasses a Mentorship program that runs annually in a bid to uplift and upskill upcoming young women from across the African Continent. The program boasts Mentors from all African Countries like Ghana, Botswana, South Africa, Zimbabwe,Malawi, Zambia,Nigeria etc. She recently launched a Women Economic Empowerment Concept dubbed "WAA2024 Business Shower "which helps Women set up their own Businesses in different African Countries, premised on the United Nations SDG 5, in a bid to Eradicate poverty through Economic Empowerment which will subsequently alleviate Gender Based Violence and grow the Economy. Dr Matsetse-Mpete is also the founder of Woman Supreme Botswana, a platform that Empowers both Women and Children and advocates for Quality Education. She gives motivational talks in schools and workshops students on self awareness and goal setting. Annually she sponsors a PSLE Best Female Performer Award in honour of International Education day on the 24th January, She also runs an Girl child Writing Competition annually to cultivate a reading and writing culture in honour of the United Nations International Day of a Girl child on the 11th October. The winner of the competition is honoured and awarded as a Rising Star at the Women Achievers Awards and accorded a mentorship opportunity. Annually she also hosts an International Children's Conference in honour of Universal Children's Day on the 21st November to encourage children to work hard towards their studies to achieve academic excellence. To uplift Women and girls in marginalized parts of Botswana she sponsors a Women football tournament annually to give their dreams validation and a chance to advance to better teams in urban areas. Through her Book "Understanding and Navigating Grief " ,she now gives Grief talks and counselling to prisoners and she is a regular guest on a podcast that addresses grief Awareness to the society
